Before the blizzard this weekend I took a few more pics of the bike. I also bought a bike cover and I am VERY GLAD I paid the extra 10$ for the "extreme duty" cover over the "medium duty" cover. We got a foot of snow and blizzard conditions for two days within hours of me putting it on the bike. LIFE. CHOICES. VALIDATED.

It is rather heavy but it is so comfortable from a riding position standpoint. I can easily walk it around and lifting it up isn't too difficult either so hopefully it isn't too heavy for m as a new rider. I need to fix the small dings and scratches on the bodywork and I crunched one of the rear indicators walking it out of the spot.......didn't damage them when it fell out of the van, but I heard the ugly noise a I was walking the bike out, looked down, and saw the bits of rubber and plastic that probably froze overnight.....I feel special.

SO IS MINE! It's a great bike. I'll take pics once I can get into my garage. (So spring maybe?)

Do you have it on a trickle charger? If not I recommend doing that.

As far as weight you should by fine. I'm a woman and I can lift it. (Dropped it once)

The battery is shot so I need a new one. But hey, 800$ and it has new tires and synced carbs? Not bad. It idled great in the 10 degree weather when I went to look at it.

How much did this run you if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking to get into riding this summer this looks like something right up my alley.

800$. Needs a battery and a long, romantic weekend with my body damage repair kit (bondo, primer, sander, buffer, polish, paints/clearcoat, etc....). Other than that? Perfect.

it's what I bought as my starter bike.

Now I need work done on the clutch before spring. I've had it for a few years.

Oh yeah! I need a clutch handle too. The guy laid it down going on "one lat ride" cause the weather looked nice, made it to the end of his driveway and slipped on black ice and broke it off. I couldn't tell besides the broken handle what had happened. Pretty sure these bikes are made of unobtanium.

do it!

I have this exact same bike.

They're nice, solid, easy to handle bikes.

the very tip of mine broke off. The one time I dropped it. Common thing to break?

It feels light. Not like the rest of the bike. It is not made of Nighthawk-ium. It is weak, and brittle. It shall be excised at once and replaced with something stronger!

your seat uphostelry good? We did have to recover it. We ordered the cover online and it was pretty easy to do.

It's in very good shape. The bike has 27k on it but the seat is very well kept. The previous riders used it as a commuter/weekend runner and wore the proper riding pants so you didn't have the wallet chain or jean rivets damaging the seat.

I'm looking to spend $1,000–$1,200. Do you think that's enough to pick up a clean? I just don't now how to do all that stuff yet and I want to get riding as soon as I get back in the country.

No clue. I bought this in Michigan from a guy moving out of state soon. Bikes don't easily sell in winter and because he was moving I got even more of a deal. I didn't see anything else remotely this good for the price. But that's in my area. A place with more bikes to sell might have more options and deals.

Ha I will also be buying in Michigan. I have a buddy who flips bikes as a side gig in my area though so he knows where to look. I'll definitely post on here once I get up and running in May.

Lol. Show him this one and make him mad that he missed out. Nighthawk 650s go for a decent chunk looking at the other ones. Either that or they've been "cafe'd out" which is another way of saying they've been ruined.

Yeah a friend of mine helping me get into bikes had that as his starter bike. That is a nighthawk, correct? He said it was a great one to learn on and it handled pretty well for a non-sports bike.

It is a nighthawk. The previous owner never rode it so when i bought the bike it only has 2400 miles.
